The planning and budgeting process for 2022 is now ready to begin. Following the reform of the IPPF resource allocation system, all Member Associations and the Secretariat will have to develop business plans and budgets to access unrestricted, core funding. The business plan tool will be sent out from the Regional Offices during this week.
The business plan tool will include the specific indicative amount available for each MA in the 2022 funding cycle. This indicative amount is a result of a transparent formula. The international consulting firm, Redstone, who developed the formula, gave a webinar on 1 July, in which they explained how the formula works and how it will be rolled out.

The new formula was created based on extensive input from MAs and Secretariat staff, and fulfils the mandate of the GA resolution in New Delhi calling for a new needs-based formula. The formula will be piloted for the first time to inform 2022 allocations. A PDF version of the slides can be found here.
