A strategic resolve to accelerate the global IPPF youth programme led to the inception of the Youth Social Venture Fund (YSVF) in 2020, hosted by Family Planning Association of India (FPA India).
The IPPF YSVF aims to support tech-innovations developed by young innovators that reduce access gaps and promote self-care in the SRHR space.
We are pleased to share that the global IPPF YSVF Innovation Challenge launched in September 2021, has curated eight promising ideas developed by young start-ups, towards improving young people’s access to maternal health and contraception.
Three of these will be awarded an incubation grant worth USD 10,000/- each to develop their ideas into prototypes. A matching grant of the same amount will be presented to the Member Associations/ Collaborating Partners of IPPF that will be working closely with these innovators as their in-country ‘mentors’.
We are keen to share this exciting story so far, and announce our winning teams. Please do join us for the online event on June 29, 2022, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm IST.
The IPPF YSVF Innovation Challenge (2021-22) Grant Awards Ceremony will be a part of a youth-led webinar hosted by FPA India. The webinar will showcase the eight shortlisted innovations and an opportunity to interact with some of the innovators, their mentors, and the industry experts guiding this programme.

We are delighted to share that the Global Pilot of the YSVF initiative was successfully launched last year, with eight shortlisted young start-ups/innovators and their in-country IPPF Member Associations/Collaborating Partners (MA/CP) participated in a two-month virtual immersion programme to fine-tune their solution.
These eight teams presented their pitches to a Jury Panel in order to compete for an incubation grant that would allow them to invest further in their innovation.
